Frequently asked questions

We are pleased that you have decided to stay at our house. We wish you a pleasant journey and wonderful days with us. In order to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible, we would like to present our house rules, the observance of which is intended to guarantee all guests a tidy and clean house as well as orderly coexistence.

These house rules are part of our general terms and conditions.

I. ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

Our house attaches great importance to privacy and autonomy. Contactless and independent check-in is part of our philosophy and offers you a maximum of freedom already upon your arrival. Following your completed booking, you will receive your personal booking confirmation by e-mail. This will contain all the information you need about your trip. On the day of your arrival, you will receive another e-mail at around 11.00 a.m. containing your PIN and instructions on the check-in procedure.

The rooms will be available to you from 2pm. If you wish to arrive earlier, please let us know and we will have your room(s) ready for you from the requested time. The day before your departure, you will receive another e-mail with the most important information about your upcoming check-out.

You can use your room until 11.00 a.m. on the day of departure. Please leave your key card and tracker in the check-out box at the entrance. Should you wish to have an early check-in or late check-out, we will charge a fee of 25.00 Euro for this service.

In the Campus Apartments all apartments are equipped with a satellite TV. Radio, alarm clock, laptops or other terminal devices can be brought along.

II. registration form = obligation to register

Please do not forget to fill in your registration form completely and sign it. We give you the possibility to pre-fill your data online in the course of the “quick check-in”, which you will receive by link. On the day of your arrival, you only need to sign this prepared registration form. In order for the contactless check-in to work smoothly, we kindly ask you to check or complete your guest data and to add data of any guests travelling with you.  Please note that we are obliged to record this data in accordance with § 29 of the Federal Registration Act (BMG). Leave the registration form in the letterbox in the house (entrance area) one day after your arrival.

III. Elevator

If problems occur with the lift system or if rescue measures have to be taken, the staff present have been trained on the necessary measures to be taken. You will also be helped via the emergency button in the lift.

IV. Your visitors

All current covid rules also apply to your visitors. Visitors must carry a negative test with them to visit us. Violations will be punished with a fine of 200,00 Euro. If any violations are found, they will be prosecuted unconditionally and consistently. In this case, the guest of the “campus flats” has to bear the costs.

V. Your privacy

Our cleaning service takes place twice a week on Tuesday and Friday in the morning. The staff must necessarily enter your room for this purpose. If you do not wish this, please inform the cleaning staff or the office team. In order to prevent danger, our staff must nevertheless reserve the right to enter the room without your consent – even during your absence.

VI. Bed linen and towels

You will receive new towels twice a week. Please put the used towels in the laundry basket provided. If you do not require our cleaning service, the towels cannot be exchanged. Of course, you can order additional towels or a separate change of bed linen from the office team.

VII. Fire precautions / fire alarm

In our entire house, open fires in the rooms as well as smoking in the rooms are not permitted. If you notice any faults or damage to the fire doors, please inform our staff immediately. Please inform yourself about the fire extinguishing regulations and the handling of the fire extinguishers in order to be prepared in case of a fire alarm. We would also kindly ask you to familiarise yourself with the escape and rescue routes.

X. BICYCLE GARAGE

Our house has a lockable bicycle garage on the premises, which can and should be used by our guests. Should you bring a bicycle with you or have one available on site, please let us know so that we can arrange access to the parking space for you.

At this point, we would like to expressly point out that the bringing of bicycles and comparable mobile vehicles into our house and in particular into the flats is prohibited, as this places an above-average strain on the fabric of the building, as well as possibly impairing the function of escape and rescue routes.

XI. COMMERCIAL FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Commercial filming and photography in the rooms and outside areas of the hotel is only permitted with the written consent of the management.

XII. LIABILITY

It is a fundamental requirement of ours that the rooms and objects made available to you for your use are handled with care. Of course, damage can occur despite the greatest care. We would like to ask you to inform our staff immediately in the event of damage, so that replacements can be provided without delay for you as well as for subsequent guests.

The use of electrical and electronic devices brought along is the guest’s own responsibility; the hotel assumes no liability for loss, damage or the like. The guest shall be liable for any damage caused to the hotel by the use/operation of his/her own equipment which has not been approved by an authorised testing agency responsible for technical monitoring.

XIII. PETS

Your pet is very welcome! Just let us know when you make your booking. Your pet will stay with us for 5,00 Euro per night. Please make sure that your pet does not cause any severe mess. Should this nevertheless happen, we will charge you an additional cleaning fee of € 100.00.  Please note that we will control every check-out and are also entitled to charge you afterwards. Please make sure that there are no leftovers of your pet in and around the house. In case of violation and/or non-compliance, we take the liberty of terminating the accommodation contract concluded with you with immediate effect.

XVI. ILLEGAL INTOXICANTS, ALCOHOL AND WEAPONS

Increased consumption of alcohol, bringing drugs and weapons of any kind will result in an immediate house and property ban. In any case, the relevant authorities will be notified immediately and a police report will be filed.

XVI. INTERNET ACCESS / WI-FI

We offer high-speed internet access throughout our hotel. Wi-Fi is available to our guests free of charge, LAN connections are not available. You will receive the access data in advance by e-mail.

XVII. SLEEPING HOURS

In order for all guests to be able to relax after a strenuous day and to find the appropriate sleep, we kindly ask you to please keep the noise level in the hotel rooms and on the balconies, as well as on the floors and outside the hotel at an appropriate level and with consideration for other guests from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.. In the event of conflict, appropriate authorities will be called in after a single warning.

XVIII. EMERGENCY

If the fire alarm sounds with a loud beep, please leave your room and the Boardinghouse immediately. Escape route maps can be found on your room door. Please note that in the event of an emergency, only the stairs are regarded as an escape route and the lift will be blocked. Emergency exits are marked accordingly. The emergency numbers 110 and 112 are known throughout Germany. In the event of technical emergencies (lift rescue, breakdown or power failure, etc.) outside reception opening hours, a member of staff is available on the emergency number +49 (0) 551 30678690.

Please note that door openings due to forgotten/lost keys are subject to a charge.

XVIX. PARKING

Our hotel has its own car park, which can be booked in addition depending on capacity. Access to the car park is only possible via a gate system. Parking is free of charge for you. The German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) apply on the entire premises. The property as well as the parking areas are private property; these are subject to our house rules. The instructions of the hotel staff regarding parking regulations and the parking of your car must be followed. Escape and rescue routes are marked as such and must be kept clear at all times. Cars parked illegally or incorrectly will be removed at your expense. The parking of your vehicle is at your own risk; the hotel accepts no liability for damage caused to you and/or your car during the parking period. The use of the hotel’s own car park does not entail any insurance claims. Further public parking spaces are located within walking distance of the hotel.

If you have booked a parking space, you will receive a remote control in addition to your key. You can use this to open the gate system.

XX. SMOKING

All rooms/hallways as well as public areas are equipped with a smoke detector. Smoking is therefore prohibited in the entire hotel (with the exception of the balconies, when the door is closed). In case of violation we will charge you 75,00 Euro as well as the price of an additional overnight stay in the amount of 75.00 euros for the following two days. If the smoke detector is set off due to unauthorised smoking, we will also charge you for the resulting financial damage due to fire brigade deployment, staff deployment, evacuation of the building, loss of occupancy, etc.

XXI. CLEANLINESS / CLEANING

Although we clean your room, we ask you to pay attention to the cleanliness of the rooms. Rubbish bins are located in front of the main entrance of the “campus apartments”. We ask you to dispose of your rubbish accordingly on the day of departure at the latest. Should your room be excessively dirty, we will charge you separately for the effort involved. The minimum charge is a flat rate of 100 Euro plus disposal fees. Improper disposal and resulting damage to the building or damage to the disposal channels will be charged to you according to actual expenditure and loss of occupancy.

XXII. KEYS

The Boardinghouse will provide you with a key card for your room for the duration of your stay. With this you have access around the clock to your booked hotel room, the laundry center, the bicycle storage room, as well as the entrance to the hotel via Fabrikweg 2a. Access to the guest entrance is via the wall reader, to the left of the door in the middle of the bell system. Under the white field with the inscription “Salto NFC symbol”, the card will automatically receive all the necessary information. Hold your card to the wall reader, the reader will flash blue, then green. The door will then open. Please use the normal locking cylinder only in emergencies – such as power failure, in which you hold the card in front of it. Please make sure to lock all doors again. Use the normal door handles to open the doors, not the knobs marked “Salto”. On the day of departure, leave the key card in the CheckOut box on the right side in front of the door.

Please note that we charge 15,00 Euro for a lost key card.

XXIII. OTHER BEHAVIOUR

During your stay at the hotel, we ask you to behave in an environmentally friendly manner, especially when using water and electricity.

When leaving the hotel room, please close the windows and doors and turn off the lights.

We ask our guests to behave considerately and not to put other guests in danger. We ask that you also pay attention to order and cleanliness in the public areas of the hotel. It is unpleasant if other guests enter a dirty hallway due to dirty shoes, for example.

Entering the office on the ground floor is (currently) only permitted with a mouth-nose covering of the appropriate protection classification.

If personal belongings are left at the hotel on departure, we will be happy to send them to your address stated on the registration form, in consultation and with your agreement, for an appropriate fee.

XXV. offences against the house rules

The management is entitled to exclude guests who behave unlawfully in the hotel or on the property or repeatedly violate the house rules from further accommodation, without reimbursement of costs. Our employees are authorised to issue instructions to our guests regarding compliance with the house rules. We kindly ask you to take note of this and to observe it in any case.

XXVI. LAUNDRY SERVICE

If required, we can have your laundry and clothing cleaned by our external service provider. The prices and further modalities will be requested separately via the laundry service.

XXVII. Entertainment electronics

In the Campus Apartments, only the flats in the category “Apartments with one bedroom” are equipped with a television. In the other categories we support your relaxation without media confusion.

XXVIII. ROOM INVENTORY AND DAMAGES

Please report any missing or damaged inventory immediately after arrival. Please note that subsequent claims/damage will not be accepted and accordingly you will be charged and invoiced. The removal of inventory from the rooms is prohibited and will be subject to a fine and a replacement value (in case of damage) of the inventory.

In case of questions or problems, the reception staff is at your disposal during our opening hours. Should you have any queries regarding your stay in our house or other requests/concerns, please feel free to contact one of our staff members at any time or contact us by phone or e-mail.

XXXIX. Children and Teenager

Of course, small guests are also very welcome. From 0 – 10 years your children stay for free, from 10 years we charge 15 euros per night and from 16 years we charge 25 euros per night per child/teenager. From the age of 18 we charge the full price.

XXXVI. Broadcasting fees

Please note that in Germany broadcasting fees (GEZ) are charged per household. Sobald Sie länger als 6 Monate in unserem Haus leben, oder sich beim Einwohnermeldeamt in unserem Haus gemeldet haben, sind wir verpflichtet, dieses bei der GEZ zu melden.
